Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro firmly stated that the company will not be changing how ABC operates as the network faces pressure from the Federal Communications Commission over its broadcast license renewals. “Our position on this is clear. We’re very principled on this,” D’Amaro said on CNBC at Disney’s D23 Expo. “We’re going to stand up to what we believe is journalistic integrity. And we’re not going to be told how to run that side of our business.” D’Amaro said Disney’s filings with the FCC explain its position. He also defended ABC’s programming and said the network will remain committed to its current approach. “I like what we do. We tell incredible stories. I think we do it well. We do it around the world. And we’re going to stay committed to that,” he said.
