Last time we saw the New Mutants, Legion had returned. The team brought him back to the X-Men’s base where they are trying to integrate his personalities. One of them, unbeknownst to the team, is a murderer.
But not right now. This is a downtime issue, with check-ins on the various team members. My favorite is the discussion between Moonstar and Cannonball. Cannonball has been named the leader of the new team and Cyclops let him pick his people–and he did not choose Dani.
So she hits him in the face. He then tells her that her punching him in the face is exactly why he doesn’t want her on the team.
Across the country, at the ruins of X-Mansion, Warlock returns to Earth and finds it in ruins, with a tombstone for his bestie, Doug Ramsey. Yes, he’s on the cover but doesn’t appear until the last page.
