NYCC ’25: Bad Idea takes on the Big Apple

5 days ago 6

It may be few and far between but every so often, Bad Idea has a good idea…or two. The publisher has announced a sizable presence at this year’s New York Comic Con, bringing with it killer exclusives and announcement teases.

Anchoring the publisher’s NYCC plans is its massive slate of convention exclusive releases, including new releases of the complete Hank Howard, Pizza Detective; Hero Trade; and The Ends. Each comes with a convention-exclusive reversible dust jacket, complete with full art and design on both sides. Only 50 of each hyper-limited hardcover collection will be available at Bad Idea Booth #4451.

“Beautifully designed with stunning art by superstar creators Joe Quesada, Mico Suayan, Eduardo Risso, Lewis LaRosa, and more,” Bad Idea says of the releases. “But that’s not all! Each is completely reversible, sporting a unique design on both sides, PLUS every one includes a hand-numbered, limited edition bookplate signed by one of the series creators and authenticated by a BAD IDEA hologram sticker for just $200 while supplies last!”

Also in attendance will be Derek Kolstad, the screenwriter behind the John Wick franchise. Kolstad co-wrote Bad Idea’s Planet Death and will be on hand to chat about the series at a publisher-specific panel.

“Get an inside look at the punishing, no-holds-barred action crime spectacle — ORDAINED from the formidable team of New York Times best-selling author Robert Venditti (PLANET DEATH), powerhouse artist Trevor Hairsine (X-MEN), lettering legend DC Hopkins (BATMAN), ten-time Eisner Award-winning colorist Dave Stewart (HELLBOY, STAR WARS), and returning comics superstar that we’ve been keeping TOP SECRET,” the company’s press release added. “Derek Kolstad, PLANET DEATH co-writer & creator and writer of the box office-dominating JOHN WICK franchise is set to adapt ORDAINED for the big screen in a major motion picture starring an Oscar-nominated A-list actor, and will be ready to give you a behind-the-scenes look at this can’t-miss series!”

New York Comic Con takes place Thursday, October 8th through Sunday, October 12th at New York City’s Javits Center.
