Oni Press is making sure its presence will be felt at this year’s New York Comic Con. The publisher has announced it’s bringing a slate of its creators and titles to the Big Apple for ReedPop’s latest extravaganza. At the root of it all is High Strangeness: 1967, the first title in a partnership between Oni and SpectreVision, the production company founded by Elijah Wood and Daniel Noah.
Noah serves as co-writer for the series alongside Chris Condon of Green Arrow and That Texas Blood fame. The cover to High Strangeness: 1967 #1 being offered as a variant at this year’s NYCC features a UFO photo captured by Noah himself.
“On October 8th at 3 PM ET, Oni Press will be offering a Retailer Day Signing immediately following its retailer presentation with renowned creators Matt Kindt (EC’s Epitaphs from the Abyss) and Chris Condon (High Strangeness, The Goddamn Tragedy),” Oni says in a press release. “Join them inside the River Pavilion as Kindt signs a SPECIAL, TOP-SECRET NEW ITEM to be revealed next week and Condon signs HIGH STRANGENESS: BOOK ONE Secret Edition variant covers, featuring a real-world UFO photograph captured by SpectreVison co-founder and HIGH STRANGENESS co-writer Daniel Noah.”
Outside of the retailer-adjacent signing event, the publisher will also be hosting its own panel titled after its slogan: “The Loudest Thing in Color.” That panel will take place Friday, October 10th at 3:30 p.m. Eastern in the Javits Centers’ Room 406.3 and will feature appearances by Oni’s Hunter Gorinson and Karl Bollers in addition to creators like Rodney Barnes, Mat Heagerty, Kindt, George Northy, and Adam Syzm.
This year’s New York Comic Con takes place at New York’s Javits Center from Thursday, October 9th to Sunday, October 12th.
