In these issues, Frank Castle goes to war against Norman Osborn’s underworld ally, The Hood, and his army of resurrected D-list villains.

Hood goes on a campaign to drive Punisher insane, having his crew dress up as heroes but of course Castle is still able to kill off (re-kill) several of them. So Hood ups the ante by digging up the graves of Punisher’s family.
Meanwhile, another contingent kidnap GW Bridge to try to force him to share Punisher’s weaknesses.

For the big finale, Punisher tries to rescue Bridge and is confronted by his family, resurrected by Hood. But rather than allow this to stop him, Punisher has Firebrand burn them “alive.” He prevails.

What will come next is a one-shot where Punisher dies and transitions to Frankencastle. I have to say, it’s disappointing that that didn’t happen in this story. It would have made a lot more sense. This story feels rushed, the art isn’t good, and it’s not as fun or witty as the rest of Remender’s run on this title.
