This book started as Garth Ennis’ vehicle to transform not just Frank Castle but also Marvel’s entire vision of the comic book market. Then it kind of meandered through violent stories–echoes of Ennis. And it ends with an anthology issue with some art by folks who worked on the legendary Ennis issues. The magic is gone. The enthusiasm is gone. And, apparently, so are the editors–note the misspelling of Greg Hurwitz’s creator credit.

I mean, if you’re gonna screw up a name, shouldn’t it be “Swierczynski”?

The stories in this final issue are actually pretty good. They’re just not Ennis good.
