Review: Star Wars Visions: The Ninth Jedi Episode 5

Kara has finally entered a character arc that makes her a bit more palatable. It’s taken long enough, but the show is finally hitting its stride, with its protagonist moving from spectator to the forefront. Episode 5, titled “The Storm of Violence,” draws multiple emotions out of Lah Kara, and it’s very refreshing. Let’s get down to brass tacks. As usual, spoilers lie ahead. The episode opens with narration explaining the current state of the galaxy. Nawaam is turning many systems over to his cause, either through bloodshed or fear tactics. Mostly bloodshed. A nebulous amount of time has passed since the rebels’ stinging defeat at Bibin. With Nawaam declaring them traitors, probes, assassins, and Jedi hunters are now abroad, searching for what is left of Juro’s former crew. Meanwhile, Kara has moved into self-imposed exile as she faces her own guilt and self-doubt following her defeat at the hands of Nawaam. Juro’s loss has hit her hard. Having decided she wants nothing to do with the war, she lives a life of semi-solitude on an unnamed forest planet, flush with life and sparsely populated by peaceful Ewok Duck people.
