Steven Spielberg's latest film, Disclosure Day, will hit theaters on June 12. In the months after its release, some of the iconic director's greatest films will be getting reworked in a surprising new format.
Titan Comics has announced Spielberg by Amazing Améziane, a new graphic novel that examines Spielberg's career from his rise to fame with Jaws while also including his humble beginnings and other modern cinematic masterpieces like Jurassic Park, E.T. and Schindler's List. The graphic novel marks the fifth entry in Ameziane's 'Cine' series, which illustrates behind-the-scenes stories of some of Hollywood's biggest hitters, like Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola. Spielberg will be released on Sept. 1, 2026, with pre-orders already available and priced at $24.99.
Spielberg Graphic Novel Teases the 'Man Behind the Camera'
Titan Comics' solicit for Spielberg reveals Ameziane will take a unique approach in sharing Spielberg's story with readers. "In this retrospective graphic novel, Ameziane takes a dive into the mind of the auteur himself, imagining exactly how the cinema icon would tell his story, through his humble beginnings and rise to fame, as well as the struggles and crucial moments of his career."
For those who are already familiar with Spielberg's legendary films, Titan promises the graphic novel will go deeper, providing insight for all. "You might know his works, but now you can get to know the man behind the camera."
Preview pages from the interior of Spielberg shared by Collider show scenes from the period in the director's career when he was working on Jaws. "As far as I was concerned, Jaws was a thriller in which the characters were all normal people caught in extraordinary situations," Spielberg says in the preview page. "That meant we needed to shoot it in the most realistic way possible."
Further pages give deeper insight into Spielberg's creative process in crafting Jaws and the struggles he faced. "I lived in the desert in Arizona. I didn't know about the ocean or tides and the impact they had," Spielberg notes. "I didn't know that the weather could change in an instant, that the sky could go dark in a heartbeat and change the color of the water. This made it impossible to have continuity between shots."
Ameziane's graphic novel clocks in at 192 pages, meaning there's plenty more insight into Spielberg's films to read in the full story. Titan promises that the book will provide "behind-the-scenes stories", similar to Ameziane's other biographical comics.
