This year officially marks the return of the Thundercats, but wait, there’s more, because also flying back into the picture are the equally-legendary SilverHawks — and together, at long last.
The two superhero factions were once a staple of childhood, and their return can only be categorized as fantastic news for fans who’ve waited oh so long to get their hands on another storyline involving Thundercats and the SilverHawks.
On April 8, Dynamite Entertainment brings the thunder with ThunderCats X SilverHawks: ThunderHawks #1, with former Avengers, X-Men and Batman writer Ed Brisson and Vincenzo Federici, the illustrator behind Firefly and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Armageddon Game, steering the series.

Thundercats, SilverHawks Are Back and Together At Last
This is nothing to snarf at, seeing as it'll run will feature three interconnected series, all part of the crossover event that will span 15 issues in all, so get ready for the ThunderHawks.
Per the official solicitation from Dynamite Entertainment: “WINGS OF SHADOW — AND TALONS OF FIRE! Trapped in the far future, the ThunderCats Lost team is desperately searching for a way to return to the past and prevent the war that could spell the end for all of ’Cat-kind. But with the dark forces arrayed against them gaining strength every day, the besieged Thunderans of Sixth Earth are beginning to fracture under the ever-increasing pressure.
It continued: “As Neko strikes out on her own in an attempt to take down their enemies single-handed, her teammates plan one final raid to secure the Thundrillium they need to fuel their journey through time. But unbeknownst to them, behind their enigmatic attackers looms an even greater threat — a force unlike anything they have ever faced before!”
What's Next For Thundercats x SilverHawks?
Returning alongside Brisson, to guarantee Lion-O gets the perfect treatment, is Declan Shalvey, famous for his incomparable contributions to Thundercats #1.
“As well as Thundercats X SilverHawks by Shalvey there will be ThunderCats X SilverHawks: Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living #1 by Shalvey and Rapha Lobosco,” as reported by BleedingCoolNews. “And the third will be ThunderCats X SilverHawks: ThunderHawks #1 by Ed Brisson and Vincenzo Federici.”
Better still is the fact ThunderCats X SilverHawks: ThunderHawks #1 will feature an incentive edition of Ivan Tao’s cover autographed by Larry Kenney, the voice actor for Lion-O in the ThunderCats original television series. It’s nostalgia done right — oh so right — because not only are ThunderCats and SilverHawks back, but they’re also not taking any prisoners as they begin to carve their way back onto the main stage.
