Tom Kane, a longtime voice actor known for his work in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and other major franchises, has died, according to a statement shared by Galactic Productions.

The agency confirmed the news in a public tribute, calling Kane “a legendary voice actor whose work shaped the childhoods and imaginations of millions around the world.” The statement pointed to his wide range of roles across animation, documentaries, and video games.

Kane was best known to fans for voicing Jedi Master Yoda in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and other Star Wars projects. He also served as a narrator for several entries in the franchise, helping define the tone of the series during a period of major expansion for the brand.

Outside of Star Wars, Kane built a strong following among gamers through his work in the Call of Duty franchise. He voiced Takeo Masaki in the Zombies mode, a character central to the long-running Aether storyline that spanned multiple Call of Duty: Black Ops titles. His performances became a key part of the mode’s identity, with fans often citing his delivery during major story moments.

The tribute also focused on Kane’s personal life, describing him as “a devoted husband and father” who raised nine children with his wife through a mix of biological children, adoption, and fostering. The statement framed his family life as a central part of his legacy.

Kane stepped away from voice acting after suffering a stroke in 2020 that affected his ability to speak. His family provided updates during his recovery, while fans and colleagues across the animation industry voiced support.

“Though his voice may now be silent, the characters, stories, and love he gave to the world will live on forever,” the statement read. It closed with a reference to the franchise that defined much of his career, saying, “May the Force be with you, always.”

His death marks the loss of a major figure in modern voice acting, especially within franchises that continue to drive global entertainment and merchandising. For many fans, his work remains closely tied to the rise of serialized animated storytelling tied to major studio brands.
