Nation X was another big “event” but it kinda got swallowed up by all the other big (and smaller) events happening at the same time. Plus, it’s not really an event. It’s just a banner across the top of a couple X-titles.
In those issues, Magneto returns to the ruins of Asteroid M. Of course, Asteroid M has long since crashed into Earth, and was recently made into the island home for mutants called Utopia.

But Magneto doesn’t return to fight the X-Men–he says he comes in peace. Over the course of cautious conversations between Magneto and Cyclops, we learn that his powers, which he lost many issues ago, were restored by High Evolutionary, and that Magneto wants to find a way to give back abilities to all the mutants whose powers were removed during the House of M. He also says he supports the Utopia vision.
ScreenshotMeanwhile, anti-mutant terrorists-with-superpowers kidnap Scalphunter. They’re called the “New U-Men.” They force him to fly a plane full of mutant eating Predator X monsters into Utopia.

Scott shoots it down, but a few of the monsters survive and attack Utopia. Namor and Magneto help the X-Men kill the creatures.
Beast doesn’t trust Magneto and quits the team over Cyclops choosing to allow Magneto to live on Utopia. We also learn that Magneto is looking into returning Kitty Pryde from space, where she is still trapped inside a giant bullet from back in Astonishing X-Men.
So, while this is appears to be an “event,” it’s really just a story arc.
