The Alien franchise remains one of the most successful sci-fi horror brands in Hollywood, and it is now pushing forward with new projects nearly 50 years after the original film debuted. Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic helped define modern sci-fi horror and built a long-running series centered on deadly encounters with the xenomorph. That legacy is continuing with a new wave of films, shows, and games aimed at longtime fans and new audiences.
This week, a new teaser quietly appeared online for the upcoming sequel to Alien: Isolation. The short video confirms that Alien: Isolation 2 is still in development after a long period with little public information. Sega and Creative Assembly released the clip on Alien Day, April 26, which references LV-426, the fictional moon tied to the franchise’s origins.
The teaser, titled “False Sense of Security,” runs about 25 seconds and gives fans a brief look at what is coming next. Original creative director Al Hope is back on the project, which signals some continuity with the 2014 game. At the same time, the footage suggests a change in setting. It shows a blast door opening to a rainy outdoor area instead of the tight corridors seen in the first game. The clip also brings back the familiar emergency phone save station, a feature many players will recognize. The message attached to the video warns that players may feel safe when they are not, reinforcing the tension the series is known for.
No release date has been announced for Alien: Isolation 2, though industry chatter points to a possible 2027 launch. The release of this teaser suggests the project is moving forward at a steady pace, and more updates could arrive soon.

The game is just one part of a broader revival for the franchise. The recent success of Alien: Romulus, released in 2024 and directed by Fede Álvarez, has already led to plans for a sequel. Television is also playing a role in the expansion. The FX series Alien: Earth is expected to begin its next phase of production in May, with creator Noah Hawley reportedly planning additional seasons.
Gaming fans have more to watch as well. A follow-up to Aliens: Fireteam Elite is expected later this year, while Alien: Rogue Incursion will continue its story in a second installment focused on Zula Hendricks and her android partner. With multiple projects in motion, the Alien franchise shows no signs of slowing down as it builds on a formula that still connects with audiences.
