The story is fine and it’s always nice to have a self-contained tale with unexpected guest stars.  I think the overall problem with this book is the brand and the tone.  As part of the “First Class” line, readers expected something geared for all-ages readers that isn’t too continuity-heavy but maybe has some easter eggs for longtime readers.  What made the original First Class books great was that they were lighthearted and reverential towards the source material.  The tone of Wolverine’s FC book is just not like that.  The art makes this book look much more like David’s (far superior) work on X-Factor.  The stories are not instantly relatable and often reference events from books published 20 years ago.  It’s just not working.
