It involves some aliens robbing the X-Men of their powers right before a Sentinels attack such that, when the Sentinels arrive, the kids no longer register as mutants.  Powerless, they fly out to respond to a distress call from Scarlet Witch and, while in the air…

…their powers return!  Perfect for my “X-Men crashing planes” tag, below!

Their rebooted powers end up being stronger.  Angel officially gets his healing ability that has been mentioned from time-to-time but is not clearly canon.

It turns out that the aliens were sent to “unlock potential” in life forms.  

This is one of the stranger stories in this series.  It doesn’t seem to clearly fit in continuity and feels pretty disjointed.  It still reads well and the art is still great–these are two creators at the top of their game.

Sadly, these are Roger Cruz’s last issues of this series.  

Back-ups are Colleen Coover’s Jean Grey/Wanda Maximoff team up and a Mini Marvels.  All good.
