DC Comics' Absolute Batman is officially set to make his video game debut, and there is little more than a month left before he does.

Absolute Batman is set to be just one of several versions of the Dark Knight that players can step into the cape and cowl of when LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight goes on sale next month. Apart from marking the first video game appearance of Absolute Batman, this marks the first video game appearance of any character from DC Comics' Absolute Universe.

The official game description for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight reads, "Rise as the Dark Knight and experience the essential Batman story in a bold, action-packed adventure with hard-hitting combat, an open-world Gotham City, and the signature LEGO charm that fans know and love."

DC Comics' Absolute Universe came about following the events of 2024's DC All In Special #1, which saw Darkseid launch an all-out assault on the Justice League Unlimited, only to be obliterated by a supernaturally enhanced Superman. In spite of his apparent defeat, the villain's consciousness slipped across the Multiverse and bonded to the very fabric of reality in the Elseworld, which was soon remade in Darkseid's own image as the Absolute Universe.

The Absolute Batman has been one of, if not the most prominent, figure to arise from this new reality. Unlike most versions of Bruce Wayne, this Batman relies on whatever he can scrape together in order to wage war against his enemies, whereas the Absolute Joker has seemingly limitless resources at his own disposal.

Since the series debuted, Absolute Batman has been a resounding success both critically and in terms of sales. In fact, the fan-favorite series claimed 15 of the top 31 spots on ICv2's list of the bestselling comic book titles of 2025, with scribe Scott Snyder writing in response, "Thank you so much. We feel so lucky to get to work on this book together and so grateful to you guys for everything."

Currently, the Absolute Batman is on track to take part in what will be the Absolute Universe's very first crossover event. As explained by DC Comics Executive Editor Chris Conroy during an appearance at ComicsPRO, "We are very mindful about keeping the Absolute Universe sort of at the size it is, keeping it easy to understand, keeping it easy to onboard. We will have one other thing this year. It's the first Absolute Universe event. This will be in Q4. We're going to do it our way, the Absolute way."

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is set to go on sale via early access on May 19, followed by a widespread release on May 22.
