The following contains major spoilers for Absolute Superman #15, on sale now from DC Comics.

DC Comics' Absolute Superman is heading for another superpowered showdown, and all at the expense of the people who care about him.

Absolute Superman #15 (by Jason Aaron, Juan Ferreyra, and Becca Carey) follows the titular hero as he races from one catastrophe to the next, dodging the romantic advances of both Lois Lane and Lana Lang along the way. When the Man of Steel takes to the skies to mourn those he could not save, however, he soon finds himself staring down none other than Hawkman, who is just one of the many villains preparing to make a move against him.

The official solicit synopsis for Absolute Superman #15 from DC Comics reads, "A DAY IN THE LIFE OF ABSOLUTE SUPERMAN! In the shocking aftermath of the Battle of Kansas, Superman wrestles with profound changes to his life, his allies, and even his costume. But more importantly, there's work to be done, as we experience a day in the life of the world's busiest superhero — and welcome guest artist Juan Ferreyra (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) to the series!"

While Hawkman has long been counted among DC Comics' greatest heroes, the Absolute version of the character is anything but a champion of truth and justice. Instead, this Hawkman is a Golden Age superhero who turned on his fellow crime-fighters when asked by the House Un-American Activities Committee back in the 1950s. Since then, the Absolute Hawkman has fought to maintain the status quo at any cost.

The Absolute Brainiac, seen walking towards the house of his world's Lex Luthor at the end of Absolute Superman #15, has been a part of the series from the very beginning. Like the versions of the character fans know best, the Absolute Brainiac is a cybernetically enhanced extraterrestrial obsessed with harvesting as much knowledge as possible.

Unlike most other Brainiacs, however, the Absolute Brainiac also exhibits an utterly detached, often deranged mental state, which has only made them that much more of a threat. To make matters worse, the Absolue Brainiac has fully embraced the overt evil that has shaped so much of the world they inhabit, and has taken steps to ensure that none of its newly arisen heroes are ever able to upset the power structures that prop it up.

As seen back in 2025's Absolute Evil #1 by Al Ewin and Giuseppe Camuncoli, Brainiac was the one who decided the world's then newly-formed Justice League needed a sixth member, as well as the one who subsequently placed the call to Lex Luthor. Now, it looks like Brainiac is ready to bring Lex into the fold in full, paving the way for Superman's next biggest confrontation.
