Adria Arjona has officially been cast as Maxima in the DC Studios upcoming "Superman" (2025) sequel, "Man of Tomorrow", confirming her role as one of the key new additions to the expanding DC cinematic universe. The casting brings the iconic DC Comics character to life on the big screen as the franchise continues to build momentum under its new creative direction.

Maxima first appeared in Action Comics #645 (September, 1989) and was created by writer Roger Stern and artist George Pérez. She is the Queen of Almerac and a powerful alien warrior with superhuman strength, telepathy, and a reputation for both regal authority and fierce combat ability. Often depicted as seeking a genetically superior mate to produce an heir, Maxima's storylines frequently intersect with Superman, whose power and moral code both challenge and intrigue her. The character has appeared across various DC animated and comic adaptations over the years, typically portrayed as a formidable force with shifting allegiances.

Arjona, a rising star in Hollywood, has built a strong reputation across both film and television. She is known for her roles in projects such as "Andor", "Hit Man", and "Morbius", where she has demonstrated a range spanning action, drama, and genre storytelling. Her casting as Maxima marks a major milestone in her career as she joins one of the industry's most high-profile superhero franchises.

The role of Maxima reportedly went through an extensive casting process, with multiple actresses considered before Arjona secured the part. Her addition is expected to play a notable role in shaping the ensemble of "Man of Tomorrow" as DC Studios continues developing its interconnected universe.

Written and directed by James Gunn, "Man of Tomorrow" continues the story introduced in Superman, with David Corenswet returning as Clark Kent / Superman and Nicholas Hoult reprising his role as Lex Luthor. The film is part of DC Studios' broader slate of interconnected storytelling aimed at expanding its cinematic universe with new characters and evolving relationships.

"Man of Tomorrow" is scheduled for theatrical release on July 9th, 2027.
