In this story, titled “Old Soldiers Never Die,” we get to see The Invaders with the versions of Captain America and Bucky who stepped in after the originals “died” at the hands of Red Skull.

ScreenshotOne thing I really enjoyed about this issue was that Karl Kesel portrays Jeff Mace Cap as a hero floundering for purpose, since the war is over–introducing the “fish out of water”/”man out of time” theme for this version of Cap.
By way of retcon, Jeff Mace negotiates for a new home base for his team in New York, and the story closes with him looking at plans for a new structure: The Baxter Building!
