Last month, Rick and Morty's comic book end began, with the release of Rick and Morty: The End #1. Rick Sanchez is on the run from the collective of universes following the events of the Rick and Morty Versus the Universe, and Morty has been tasked to hunt down his own grandfather or else all Mortys will be erased from the multiverse.

In the first issue, Morty tracked down the world of the Ball Fondlers, knowing that they were Rick's favorite characters to follow on interdimensional cable. Morty was able to take the Ball Fondlers down, but not before he had his arm chopped off. At the end of the issue, Morty was surprised by the new Vindicators, including his ex-girlfriend, Planetina!

Now, CBR has an exclusive preview of the second ssue of Rick and Morty: The End, coming from writer Daniel Kibblesmith and artist Jarrett Williams, which launches on Wednesday.

What is the solicitation for Rick and Morty: The End #2, and what are the covers?

RICK AND MORTY: THE END #2 (of 6)

WRITTEN BY DANIEL KIBBLESMITH

ART BY JARRETT WILLIAMS

COVER A BY DAVE BARDIN

COVER B BY TROY LITTLE

MOST WANTED VARIANT (1:10) BY PHIL MURPHY

VARIANT (1:20) BY TOM FOWLER

IT’S ALL OVER—ALMOST! Dangerously deranged interdimensional masterminds Daniel Kibblesmith (Loki) and Jarrett Williams (Speed Force) are counting down to the end of all things, and no one is ready for what’s coming next—especially RICK AND MORTY!

A super-team of B-list heroes and bounty hunters has formed the dorkiest posse in the universe to find and capture the most-wanted man in history: Rick Sanchez. Organized by the Parmesan Universe after Rick’s antics [see: everything he’s ever done], this not-so-super team decides the best way to capture Rick is to send Morty to bring his grandfather in peacefully. But, through his own interdimensional genius, it turns out that Rick has been hiding out in idealized self-fan fiction! So Morty is about to surprise Rick in the last place he’d ever expect: his own imagination! (And yes, that is a terrible idea!)

What happens in the preview pages of Rick and Morty: The End #2?

In the preview pages, we see a new team of Vindicators form, and they meet up with Morty after he has successfully defeated the Ball Fondlers. The new team is led by Planetina, who is Morty's ex-girlfriend, and who really had a lot of trouble with their breakup.

Among the team members is a mysterious member named Titanium D, as well as an old Mr. Meeseeks (if Mr. Meeseeks' tasks can't be completed, they can't die, and thus, this is obviously a Meeseeks whose core task was never completed) and Sleepy Gary (who was one of the fake characters introduced in the iconic brain parasite episode of the series, but I guess he's real now).

As it turns out, the Parmesan Universe actually KNOWS where Rick is, but wanted to first test Morty to see if he was still loyal to Rick. Since he seems to be trustworthy, the Vindicators will team up with Morty to help bring Rick in.

Whether that turns out well, you'll have to pick up a copy of Rick and Morty: The End #2 this Wednesday to find out!
