Growing up in rural Iowa as a reluctant reader, it all changed when he started reading the original Fantastic Four by Lee/Kirby. Now Austin can't stop reading. He has written about comics for Comic Book Yeti and he has also written tons of indie comics, best known for Big Guns Stupid Rednecks.
Costume changes for comic book heroes often signal big plans for a character's future. DC has unveiled a bold new suit for Terry McGinnis, the Batman of the future, better known as Batman Beyond.
In Batman/Static Beyond #6, written by Evan Narcisse with art by Miguel Mendonca, Terry McGinnis debuts a new suit. Still sporting his classic red and black signature color scheme, this costume covers Terry's entire body from head to toe, including his face. Terry teams up with Virgil Hawkins to battle Shutdown, the new DC villain introduced in this series.

Shutdown's goal is to turn people into mutated versions of themselves, exactly like he is, aiming to do this to anyone and everyone, including Terry. Besides being able to mutate people, Shutdown can disable technology, causing Terry to make the change in costumes. Without any technology for Shutdown to manipulate, he's essentially powerless against Terry.
Terry McGuinness' New Suit Ditches Tech For Good

During the showdown, he reveals to Shutdown his low-tech suit, saying, "Throwback Batsuit. No fancy tech. It's just me in here. Just one human being trying to stop another from doing something incredibly stupid."
Batman/Static Beyond has been well-received by fans. Static has gained renewed popularity after not just appearing in this series, but being brought back into DC Comics' main universe continuity, appearing in The New History of the Dakotaverse, and DC reprinting his classic Milestone adventures. Terry has surged through this miniseries, his solo series, and the release of the massive 1,256-page collection Batman Beyond: Unlimited Compendium. The collection features storylines with Justice League Beyond, Hush Beyond, and Return of the Joker. In the collection, readers can enjoy work from Adam Beechen, Dustin Nguyen, and Norm Breyfogle.
It is currently unknown if we will see the suit again or if Virgil and Terry will continue their adventures together. A 184-page trade paperback collection of all six issues is slated for August 4th.
Batman/Static Shock #6 can be purchased wherever comics are sold.
