In this issue, Ares’ relationship with his son is strained as Alexander is concerned that Ares is on the wrong side of the whole superhero thing. Nick Fury takes advantage of Alex’s moral conflict and recruits him into his Secret Warriors team. Ares tracks down and confronts Fury, but Fury is able to convince Ares that Fury, not Ares, can best teach Alex how to use his power. Ares relents and keeps his son’s secret, thus creating another wedge among Norman Osborn’s Dark Avengers crew.
Speaking of Norman Osborn, his “Green Goblin crazy side” takes an increasingly larger role. He locks himself in his lab and denies Victoria Hand access, forcing her to make excuses for him to the U.S. Secretary of Defense.
And finally, Sentry’s wife Lindy shoots him in the face with a gun she got from Noh Varr, and appears to wound him.
