Image Comics' latest fantasy comedy series, D'orc, continues to be a runaway success. A spike in series-wide sales has triggered an impressive fifth reprinting for the debut issue.

Image announced that D'orc has once again sold out at the distributor level, with the publisher planning to rush the first issue back to print in order to keep up with demand. Described as perfect for fans of Conan the Barbarian, The Lord of the Rings and I Hate Fairyland, Image dubs D'orc an "adventure readers won't want to miss." The fifth printing of the first issue will be released on May 13, following a third printing of D'orc #2, which Image is releasing on May 6.

D'orc's Fantasy Story Follows a Half-Dwarf Half-Orc

D'orc is written by Brett Bean (Dungeon Crawler Carl: Crocodile, I Hate Fairyland) and tells the hilarious adventure of a half-dwarf, half-orc who finds himself caught up in the end of the world. Image's solicit teases: "Armed with nothing but a wisecracking enchanted shield and a crippling need for friendship, D’orc follows a lonely orphan who stumbles headfirst into Sunderaine’s never-ending war. Light vs. Dark. Elves vs. Orcs. Wizards vs. Common Sense. Dragons vs. Literally Everyone. And caught dead-center? D'orc."

"Half dwarf, half orc, and wholly inconvenient to a doomsday prophecy, D'orc is destined to end the world. Soon, every human, elf, goblin, dwarf, Snargletooth, Necroid, Ice Giant, Trauma Llama, and at least three other unpronounceable magical creatures will know his name. Unfortunately, so will his enemies."

Following the news of D'orc #1's fifth printing, Bean took to social media to thank fans for being so passionate about the series. "5th printing of D’ORC has been announced! I’m overblown by you! Let love rule," Bean wrote.

While demand for D'orc continues to be through the roof, fans eager to read the series don't actually have to wait for the reprinting to check out the hit fantasy comics. D'orc is available on numerous digital platforms, including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play — but those eager to get their hands on the latest printing and its special cover will have to do so in early May.

A Brand New D'Orc Story Arc Is Already Confirmed For Summer

To date, three issues of D'orc have already been released to massive acclaim and demand, and the indie publisher already has several more issues planned. The most recent issue hit shops on April 8 and saw D'orc being followed by a "large and ominous Dwarf aimed on erasing him from existence." When D'orc #4 arrives on May 13, the lovable protagonist will find himself caught up between rival goblin gangs and a giant three-headed Thrawg as he gets closer to his final destination.

A sixth issue is already planned for July 15 and will launch a brand-new story arc for the series, with Image's solicit teasing "blood and a special guest that has a bone to pick." If that wasn't enough, the publisher will also release a special trade paperback collecting the first five issues of the series on July 29, making for the perfect entry point for new fans.

D'orc #1's fifth printing will be released on May 13.
