The following contains spoilers for Fantastic Four #10, on sale April 22 from Marvel Comics.

The darkest version of one of Marvel's most beloved heroes is about to be the least of The Fantastic Four's problems.

Marvel Comics has officially unveiled artist Humberto Ramos' explosive cover art for Fantastic Four #10, and it is already shaping up to be one of the most harrowing moments in the entire history of Marvel's First Family. The art, which readers can see for themselves down below, sees the eponymous heroes staring down none other than Malice, who is just the latest threat to crop up during a full-scale invasion of the Earth.

  • THE INVINCIBLE WOMAN FINALE!

The official solicit synopsis for Fantastic Four #10 from Marvel Comics reads, "The Invincible Woman has made it to Earth, which is already fending off an invasion it can’t win. If humanity doesn't win this fight, it won't win any of them ever again. There's still the tiniest sliver of hope — if The Fantastic Four and S.H.I.E.L.D. can work together. But will it even be enough?"

"And if the Invincible Woman can best even Susan Storm, then who can stand against her malice? Will Earth survive? Will Galactus? And if they do — at what cost? The big finale of the Invincible Woman arc — it all ends here with a bang!"

Fantastic Four #10 is set to mark the final chapter of Marvel Comics' ongoing "Invincible Woman" story arc, which began in the pages of Fantastic Four #6. While the issue did feature an epic brawl between The Fantastic Four and their longtime foe, the Wizard, that was hardly what caught readers' attention. Instead, that honor went to the final page reveal that Galactus was using cosmic microwave background radiation to call for the help of none other than Susan Storm.

Sue Storm And Malice Have A Long Marvel Comics History

From previous solicits, fans have seen that the "Invincible Woman" story arc will see the return of Malice, the twisted (and equally controversial) alter-ego of Susan Storm. Introduced in the pages of 1985's Fantastic Four #280 by John Byrne, Jerry Ordway, and Glynis Oliver, the Invisible Woman's Malice persona first emerged as a result of an attack carried out by Psycho-Man's personal Hate-Monger.

During Malice's first comic book outing, she used her powers to launch a brazen assault on her teammates, quickly proving to be the most powerful and capable of them all. In a turn that is the subject of endless controversy to this very day, Reed Richards turned to berating, belittling, and emotionally abusing Malice to draw out Sue's primary persona and put a stop to the villain's crusade.

In the decades since, Malice has returned to terrorize the likes of the Fantastic Four at numerous turns. On multiple occasions, Malice has turned her attention to the Soul Gem in the hopes of attaining absolute control over her heroic other self. Unsurprisingly, each of Malice's attempts to claim control has been thwarted, though that hasn't made the threat of her any less terrifying as a whole.

Fantastic Four #10 from Marvel Comics goes on sale starting on April 22.
