What the world wants and needs is more X-Men content, and Marvel is hellbent on finally feeding the cravings this year. Not only are the X-Men being rebooted for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers: Doomsday this winter, and with multiple films planned for them thereafter, and Season 2 of X-Men '97 heading to Disney+ at some point this summer, but here comes yet another new, and explosive, arc for Professor Xavier's group.
Oh, and let's not forget the bloody Wolverine console game coming to Playstation 5 in September.
Also coming this fall, Marvel Comics will unleash DNX, a viral storyline that promises "major changes" for not just mutantkind, but all of mankind as well. And if the cover art is any indication, the DNX arc will throw every single reader back into their seats — bringing together the X-Men and The Fantastic Four months before the two factions share theaters together in Avengers: Doomsday.

X-Men, Fantastic Four Team Up Ahead of Avengers: Doomsday

A sinister plot orchestrated by none other than Hank McCoy a.k.a. Beast, the five-issue comic series from Jed MacKay and Federico Vicentini promises mayhem of the highest order, leaving the X-Men and Fantastic Four to try and stop the cataclysmic pandemic before it can truly take hold.
Per Marvel's solicitation: "The X-Men and 3K. Each steered by an original heir of Xavier, each with their own vision for the mutant people. Each at one another’s throats. Cyclops and the Chairman both experienced the future of the Age of Revelation and came home with a renewed mission: The X-Men to prevent that future. 3K to own it. While the X-Men seek out the Fantastic Four to help save one of their own, the White Beast begins his plan to unleash the X-Virus in a major population area!"
No one is more thrilled to present DNX to the masses ahead of X-Men '97's second season and the eventual uniting of the X-Men and The Fantastic Four in Avengers: Doomsday than MacKay, one of the best writers in the history of Marvel Comics.
DNX Is Going To Make The X-Men Viral, Literally
"DNX is the next big milestone event of our X-Men (2024) run," MacKay said. "Age of Revelation showed the future, and DNX shows that future’s impact on the present! The X-Men and 3K are on a collision course that has been set since issue one—and only one will survive. And with the Fantastic Four joining the fray, this is going to be an event that will transform the X-Men dramatically."
His sentiments are echoed loudly by Vicentini: "I'm so happy to be working on DNX. I love what Jed is doing with X-Men (2024), and I've been telling him for a long time that I wanted to work with him. Now the opportunity has arrived, and it’s an even bigger challenge because I finally have the chance to work on the Fantastic Four too!
Vicentini wouldn't spill all of the beans, however: "I can't say anything about the plot, obviously, but I want you to know that I'm very excited about what we're doing, and I'm sure it'll be something you'll definitely want to read. That’s how I feel both as the artist and as a fan!"
What a time it is to be alive for fans of the X-Men, having been forced, for years, to enjoy the best of the faction through comics only, unable to enjoy a rightful arc in theaters, on streaming or even in the gaming space. In 2026, all of that changes, and DNX plans to be a part of X-Men headlines going forward.
