Fans of Star Trek's Picard will soon be able to get their hands on an exciting collection of stories set in the world of the epic television series. IDW is releasing a special graphic novel omnibus on Oct. 14.

Penguin Random House unveiled new details about Star Trek: Picard Omnibus by Picard co-creator and supervising producer Kristen Beyer and fan-favorite writer Mike Johnson with illustrations by Angel Hernandez. It will collect the two graphic novel adventures that provide more context to the Star Trek: Picard series, with one taking place before Season 1 and the second taking place after the events of Season 2. The omnibus also includes an interview with Beyer discussing the development and creation of the TV series and how the comics fit into its world, as well as a special look into how the U.S.S. Verity was designed by Thomas Marrone, lead ship and UI artist for Star Trek Online.

Penguin Random House's description of the omnibus gives fans a glimpse at the action involved in the two stories. "Before he retired to his vineyard, Jean-Luc Picard was the most decorated admiral in Starfleet. Then one mission changed his life forever. After discovering that a looming supernova threatens the entirety of the Romulan Empire, the Federation launches a mission of unparalleled scale. Admiral Picard heads to the colony to plan the evacuation but makes a shocking discovery!"

How Does The Star Trek: Picard Omnibus Connect To Star Trek: Picard?

The second story will see Jean-Luc and Seven of Nine launch an unsanctioned mission that sets the series up for an explosive Season 3. "When an offer comes in from the stars, Picard is once more compelled to leave his château and confront the shadows of his past. Before his days on the Enterprise, a young Picard and his crew aboard the U.S.S. Stargazer saved a thriving planet from resource-hungry Romulans…or so he thought. Now landing on a seemingly unrecognizable planet, he and his crew work to save the system — and their ship — from disaster."

Star Trek: Picard is the eighth Star Trek series and was released from 2020 to 2023 as part of the expanded Star Trek Universe. It focuses on the retired Jean-Luc Picard, beginning at the end of the 24th century — 30 years after the character's last appearance in Star Trek: Nemesis. Patrick Stewart reprises his role as Picard after previously appearing in Star Trek: The Next Generation and other related Star Trek media. The third and final season of the series aired in 2023 on Paramount+.

The Star Trek: Picard Omnibus goes on sale Oct. 14 from IDW Publishing.
