We are nearing the midway point of Oni Press' final Rick and Morty comic book series. We gave the second issue a great review at CBR, as it continues a bold new storyline for the famous duo. We have previously shared the solicitation for the third issue, and the solicitation for the fourth issue, and now, we have, with Oni's April 2026 solicitations out there, we have the solicitation for the penultimate issue of Rick and Morty: The End, as well as some looks at the covers for the issue.
Rick and Morty: The End is from writer Daniel Kibblesmith and artist Jarrett Williams, and it serves a followup to the crossover event, Rick and Morty Versus the Universe, which saw Rick actually get into a fight with his own UNIVERSE, leading him to become the most wanted man in this, and every other, universe! In the fifth issue of the series, Rick tries a desperate gambit to avoid dealing with his multiversal trial!

What classic movie is this issue homaging, and what infamous TV show finale?
Image via Orion-NovaObviously, the concept of having 12 angry...beings in a jury is a reference to the iconic film, 12 Angry Men, about 12 jurors trying to determine whether a young man is guilty of murder or not. The story began as a TV screenplay by Reginald Rose back when TV dramas aired live. It was adapted a year later in 1955 as a stage play, and then debuted as a major motion picture in 1957, starring Henry Fonda as the lone juror who has to convince his other jurors that he's right about the defendant not being guilty.

Rick and Morty: The End #5 is set to be released on March 16th.
