Spider-Man's 1000th Comic Celebration Gets Major Update From Marvel

Marvel Comics just gave fans their best look yet at everything they can expect from Amazing Spider-Man #1000.

Marvel Comics recently unveiled multiple covers for the upcoming milestone issue, as illustrated by all-star artists including Mark Bagley, Stuart Immonen, Marcos Martin, Patrick Gleason, and the legendary Alex Ross, all of which readers can see for themselves down below. Of course, these are just a few of the artists lending their talents to the myriad variants that Amazing Spider-Man #1000 will be available in once the oversized anthology special swings into comic book stores on September 16.

What To Know About Amazing Spider-Man 1000

Although the creative teams revealed for Amazing Spider-Man #1000 so far are among the best fans could hope for, they still don't fully capture what the upcoming milestone issue will look like when it arrives. Fortunately, September comic book solicits are only weeks away at this point, meaning readers shouldn't have to wait too much longer before Marvel Comics confirms the full list of creators for the issue.

Following the character's introduction in 1962's Amazing Fantasy #15 in Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's opening story, "Spider-Man!," Peter Parker's next appearance came in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #1, published on December 10 that same year. While the series has crossed plenty of milestones and survived multiple massive shake-ups in the more than six decades since, there is no doubt that Amazing Spider-Man #1000 will be counted among the biggest of them all once it arrives.

Ahead of the release of Amazing Spider-Man #1000, readers can look forward to the Wall-Crawler facing off against one of the most underrated yet frequently overpowered organizations in the entire Marvel Universe. Not only is Spider-Man on track for confrontations with some of his worst enemies and closest allies in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man #998 and #999, but he'll also have to tangle with the agents of Damage Control.
