To make things even better for fans, Marvel has also revealed a whole host of variant covers for the issue, including a stunning logo mash-up cover that combines not just Spider-Man and Superman's iconic symbols, but those of Venom and Bizarro, as well.

Geoff Johns and Gary Frank are set to lead a story in which both the Super and Spider Families are pitted against one another by none other than Mysterio. Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman are also on the list, with the pair dropping a symbiote horde into the middle of Metropolis in their story. Louise Jones Simonson is set to return to one of her most iconic creations, John Henry Irons, otherwise known as Steel, alongside Todd Nauck for a story that will see the Hobgoblin come to blows with Metropolis' other Man of Steel.

Joe Kelly and Humberto Ramos will offer readers an unexpected story featuring two characters that are both widely beloved and still somehow wildly underrated, specifically Gwen Stacy and Lana Lang. Gwen Stacy will also take center stage alongside Supergirl in a story by Stephanie Phillips and Phil Noto. Finally, two writer-artist teams consisting of Brian Michael Bendis, Sara Pichelli, Jeph Loeb, and Jim Cheung will dive into the reality of Earth-7642 for their own stories featuring the issue's eponymous duo.

Ahead of the release of Spider-Man/Superman #1 in June, fans will be able to get their hands on Superman/Spider-Man #1, which is slated for release on March 25. The two crossover anthology one-shots serve as the latest in a line of titles that began last year with the releases of Deadpool/Batman #1 and Batman/Deadpool #1. More importantly, the upcoming one-shots also mark the 50th anniversary of the very first (proper) DC and Marvel Comics crossover title — 1976's Superman vs The Amazing Spider-Man: The Battle of the Century.

Spider-Man/Superman #1 from Marvel and DC Comics goes on sale this June.
