Supernatural is about to enter uncharted territory. New details of its canonical comic book series show Sam and Dean Winchester are about to fight crazy killer robots on their next adventure.

The official solicit from Dynamite Entertainment for Supernatural #8 teases that there won’t be monsters or demons causing problems for the Winchester brothers when the new issue arrives on June 24, 2026. Killer robots will instead be the villains taking the spotlight. “Monsters? No problem. Demons? Piece of cake. The Winchester brothers can handle just about any ghostly threat. But robots? Robots that kill? This time the brothers might be screwed…” The issue is written by Greg Pak and features art by Daniel Scalisi.

Supernatural’s Newest Adventure Takes a Sci-Fi Twist

Over the course of Supernatural's long-running television series and its more recent in-universe comics, Sam and Dean have faced off against just about every terrifying creature known to man, from vampires, ghosts, and more. The new Dynamite issue promises to see them going toe-to-toe with a threat unlike any they’ve seen before, and fans should definitely be excited.

The Supernatural comics premiered back on Oct. 1, 2025, with Dynamite allowing Sam and Dean to hit the road once more in search of demons. The series is set between the first and second seasons of the television series, keeping it squarely in the show’s canon while also allowing fans to see more missions that weren’t included during Supernatural's impressive TV run.

Before Supernatural #8 arrives and sees the brothers taking on an unimaginable new threat, the seventh issue will go on sale in May and see the two looking for someone who’s just returned from Hell. Dynamite’s solicit teases “Sam and Dean Winchester would go anywhere and face any danger to find the demon who killed their loved ones. But since tickets to the actual underworld aren't readily available, they take the next best option - a trip to New York City, to extract the information they need from a mysterious survivor who's just returned from Hell!”

The most recent issue, Supernatural #6, is available now and sees Sam and Dean continue to hunt down the entity that killed their loved ones and crossing paths with a young woman named Steff Windler — the CEO of Windler Enterprises — who has stolen the secret notebook from their monster-hunting father and plans to use it to unleash pure chaos.

With the release of the new Supernatural comics, Dynamite has been making sure to keep fans happy with several exclusive variant covers featuring photos from the television series. The upcoming issue is no exception, and readers will be able to purchase multiple versions of the issue with photos on the cover of Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles.

In addition to the photo variants, Supernatural #8 will also arrive with a main cover by John Amor and illustrated variants by David Cousens. Dynamite’s website also currently has a pre-order available for a virgin cover of the Dean Winchester photo variant, priced at $50.00. The regular cover art retails for $4.99.

Supernatural #8 goes on sale on June 24 from Dynamite Entertainment.
