Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town will kick off with the reveal of Doctor Finkelstein's latest creation, which doesn't go anywhere close to as planned. As the official solicit synopsis for Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town #1 from Dynamite Entertainment explains, "The final result is more cute and cuddly than fearsome and menacing."

"The disappointed scientist hands the newcomer over to Sally for safekeeping, who dubs it Shiver for its freezing breath. Meanwhile, the Mayor has tasked Lock, Shock, and Barrel with teaching the residents of Christmas Town how to trick-or-treat, as the two realms have embarked on a new campaign to share their holiday traditions. With Christmas Town celebrating Halloween for the first time ever, the trio are taking their assignment seriously — perhaps a bit too seriously!"

When Lock, Shock, and Barrel decide to "borrow" Shiver along with some other items from Doctor Finkelstein's laboratory, they set in motion what will surely be Christmas Town's most unforgettable Halloween yet. Readers can look forward to following along with the action for themselves when Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town #1 goes on sale on January 7

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town marks just the latest The Nightmare Before Christmas comic to be published by Dynamite Entertainment in the past year. In June, fans got their first look at Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: Long Live the Pumpkin Queen Graphic Novel by writer Liz Marsham and artists Alessio Petillo and Ismael Canales, which itself was adapted from Shea Ernshaw's 2022 novel of the same name.

Ahead of the release of Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: Long Live the Pumpkin Queen Graphic Novel, writer Liz Marsham stated, "I really enjoyed the opportunity to work on this compelling story. Shea Ernshaw wrote everything I could have needed... It was a pleasure to help add a new dimension to an already rich tale, and the art team has done a wonderful job bringing it all to life."
