The official solicit synopsis for Predator: Bloodshed #1 from Marvel Comics reads, "In the near future, Earth's fiercest fighters have gathered for an underground martial arts tournament organized by a shadowy organization. But all hell breaks loose when an unexpected combatant enters the ring: an alien PREDATOR!"

"Now the champions are battling not just for the grand prize, but for their very lives! Can a disparate group of competitors band together in time to survive the extraterrestrial hunter?! Choose your fighter, place your bets and brace yourselves for a bloody tournament unlike any other!"

Predator: Bloodshed marks the latest in a long line of Predator comics released by Marvel Comics since 2022, which have largely consisted of two separate sagas. The first of these, which began with Ed Brisson and Kev Walker's Predator: Day of the Hunter, introduced Theta, a young woman whose life was shaped by the eponymous hunters and who makes it her mission to turn the Yautja as a whole into a new kind of prey in a story spanning multiple limited series written by Brisson.

The second main Marvel Comics Predator saga began in 2023 with the release of Predator vs. Wolverine, the first of several titles written by Benjamin Percy that chart the Yautja's overarching war against the heroes of the Marvel Universe. In the years that followed, Marvel released Predator vs. Black Panther and Predator vs. Spider-Man, the events of which culminated in the recently concluded Predator Kills the Marvel Universe limited series.

Writer Benjamin Percy himself previously discussed the wider narrative at play throughout all four series, noting, "These stories have been patiently building toward something epic. Their interconnectedness will be revealed in this explosive, blood-drenched, five-part story."

"That title? It's not misdirection. This one's gonna hurt. Your favorite heroes and villains will fall, even as others rise up against this extinction-level event," Percy added. "The Predator King is here, the Yautja are armed with vibranium, and Earth is now a hunting preserve."

Marvel Comics has also published a handful of other Predator titles in recent years that play out beyond the bounds of the two primary Predator sagas. In 2025, the franchise was given its own entry in one of Marvel's most beloved anthologies in the form of Predator: Black, White & Blood. Marvel Comics also released a Predator: Badlands one-shot by Ethan Sacks and Elvin Ching in November 2025, which served as a prologue to the hit feature film of the same name.
