VENGEANCE OF THE MOON KNIGHT #1 (2009)

3 hours ago 1

The latest attempt to launch a Moon Knight monthly worthy of the legacy of Doug Moench and BillSienkiewicz begins during Dark Reign, when crime is rampant thanks to the blind eye of the nation’s lead law enforcement agent, Norman Osborn.

Moon Knight has been in hiding, laying low during Osborn’s reign.

But he’s unable to stay in hiding.

Moon Knight stops a bank robbery, bursting on the scene as he drops from his copter riding a motorcycle and wielding a gun that shoots moon darts.

At a nearby restaurant, Marlene watches the scene unfold, just outside the window.

The opening scene is exactly what I want from a more modern Moon Knight.

After stopping the crminals, he escapes police capture in his Jack Lockley identity (the cabdriver), where “Khonshu” speaks to him as he drives away.

Again, this is everything I want from a Moon Knight comic.

At the end of this first issue, Sentry appears–asking to talk to Moon Knight.

This is a badass, excellent first issue.
