Conan the Barbarian v1 #242, 1991 - Although mostly known for his superhero works for Marvel, 

 did illustrate this fierce cover. He closes in on Conan and Red Sonja, in the heat of battle as their swords hold each other at bay. The composition is uncommonly complex, but perfectly designed. Other artists in this issue include Gary Hartle and Mike DeCarlo.
