Growing up in rural Iowa as a reluctant reader, it all changed when he started reading the original Fantastic Four by Lee/Kirby. Now Austin can't stop reading. He has written about comics for Comic Book Yeti and he has also written tons of indie comics, best known for Big Guns Stupid Rednecks.

Darth Vader makes his long-awaited return to the Star Wars universe this September. A decade after Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was released, Star Wars: Rogue One – Darth Vader #1 from Marvel Comics sees Darth Vader's highly anticipated comeback.

Rogue One – Darth Vader #1 is one comic in a series of one-shots expanding the lore behind Rogue One. From the creative team of writer Christopher Condon (That Texas Blood) and artist Luke Ross (Gen13, Captain America), this new comic features covers by Walt Simonson and David Marquez, as well as a photo variant. The comic will expand on the creation of the Death Star.

The official solicitation sets the stage for how fans will spend time with Darth Vader next. "WHEN NEGOTIATIONS FAIL, THE EMPIRE SENDS IN ITS ATTACK DOG — DARTH VADER! Director Orson Krennic’s negotiations with the gem-rich planet of Harreld have hit a standstill. Its leader, Harqque, refuses to allow the Empire to mine its rare kyber deposits for use in the Death Star’s deadly super laser. But when the Emperor catches wind of Krennic’s failure, he sends his most trusted acolyte — Darth Vader — to ply the kyber from Harqque by any means necessary."

While fans have been split on the Disney Era of films, the different Star Wars comics from Marvel have been extremely well regarded. With notable runs from creators like Charles Soule, Alex Segura, Jason Aaron, and Greg Pak, the comics have explored things seen in the films more deeply, as well as new storylines entirely.

Marvel has creatively used the comics to fill in gaps in the different films. While they aren't necessary to enjoy the movies, they add more depth to the already large Star Wars mythology. Marvel and Lucasfilm, being under the Disney brand, have made these comics even more accessible for fans ready to dive back into a galaxy far, far away.

Darth Vader has remained a fan-favorite character since his first appearance in 1977's Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. Rogue One – Darth Vader may answer questions that fans have speculated about for years. The comic could reveal more about the construction of the Death Star and provide new insight into the kyber crystals that power its planet-destroying super laser.

Though Rogue One was a prequel film, it captured fans' hearts. New characters like Jyn Erso, Captain Cassian Andor, K-2SO, Baze Malbus, Admiral Raddus, and many others remain unforgettable, despite their heartbreaking fates.

Rogue One – Darth Vader #1 can be found this September wherever comic books are sold.
