Batman v1 #413, 1987 - Known in the 1980s as one of the better cover artists, Ed Hannigan looks even better with Walt Simonson providing the inks. The layout is not dissimilar to his own works, placing visual elements in strict vertical and horizontal positions. Simonson's linework is most obvious on the samurai, reinforcing the character as the cover's focal point. Other artists in this copper age issue include Kieron Dwyer and Mike DeCarlo.
