Jason is an award-winning journalist whose writing career dates back to when he developed the ability to use a crayon. He, most notably, worked previously as a "professional fan," as he likes to call it, at CinemaBlend, for which he wrote about anything and everything under the pop culture umbrella... especially Batman. His passion for the art of cinema began even earlier, stemming from repeat viewings of The Wizard of Oz.
This initially led him to pursue a career in filmmaking -- and even work briefly in the industry as an extra in the straight-to-video family film, Alice Upside Down -- before deciding that his talents would be better served discussing and showing appreciation for the various forms of entertainment he is passionate about.
Science fiction has proven to be a reliable genre for delivering fascinating entertainment for all ages, with Ben 10 being a prime example. The hit animated television series recently received a new comic book adaptation that has become bigger than anyone could have expected.
Ben 10 #1 is getting another special reprint after the second printing sold out.
More accurately, according to Dynamite Entertainment, the reprint "oversold." That is only counting orders preceding the official release of the second edition of the comic's premiere issue, which hit the shelves on June 10, 2026.
The first edition of Ben 10 #1 also received an astonishing amount of early buzz and interest, amassing a whopping total of 82,000 copies in pre-orders alone. After it was released on May 6, it went on to become the top-selling comic of that week, pushing Absolute Batman: Ark-M #1 out of the top spot, and was valued at $26 for a near-mint copy, according to Covrprice.
It is quite rare to see a comic book receive two reprints so soon after making its official debut, with the aforementioned Absolute Batman: Ark M #1 and its quick reprints being one of the more recent examples to do. However, Ben 10 is a special case of immediacy, having achieved an astonishing level of success right out of the gate, which has only continued with its second issue.
Ben 10 #2 Might Also Receive A Reprint
Image via DynamiteDynamite Entertainment also announced that, in addition to the Ben 10 #1 reprint selling out, the second issue has already come close to reaching the same status. As a result, the publisher has recommended immediate reorders for retailers slated to carry the issue, and Ben 10 #2 has a chance of getting its own second printing.
The shockingly popular comic book series is based on the hit 2000s animated series of the same name that aired on Cartoon Network from 2005 to 2008. The hero is a young boy named Ben Tennyson, who accidentally becomes bonded with a device called the Omnitrix, which allows him to transform into and channel the abilities of various species of extraterrestrials.
Originally played by prolific voice actor Tara Strong, Ben would continue his adventures in a trio of sequel series — namely Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, and Ben 10: Omniverse — as well as a successful reboot of the original that debuted in 2016. The franchise even experimented with feature-length live-action installments, including 2007's Ben 10: Race Against Time and Ben 10: Alien Swarm from two years later, both of which were directed by Alex Winter of Bill & Ted fame.
The Ben 10 franchise's first try at expanding into the comic book medium started as a segment in the Cartoon Network Action Pack, which was published by DC from 2006 to 2012 and presented a group of stories featuring characters from the cable station's most popular series. IDW Publishing would later assume the rights to the property and release a four-issue comic book series written by Jason Henderson and Gordon Purcell.
Joe Casey of Man of Action Entertainment, the writing collective that created the original Ben 10 series as well as TV favorites like Generator Rex, is the author of the new Dynamite comic. It is illustrated by Robert Carey, who is known for his work in the Batman/The Shadow series.
The first two issues of Ben 10 are currently available in stores and on most digital reading platforms.
