Fan-favorite action figure company, Amazing Yamaguchi, has officially unveiled their next rendition of one of fans' favorite DC Comics characters — Black Flash. The Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi Black Flash figure is by far one of the most flexible renditions of the character yet, and might just be the most intimidating figure that the infamous enforcer of the Speed Force has ever received.

The New Black Flash Figure from Amazing Yamaguchi is Scary Cool

The Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi Black Flash action figure is currently available for pre-order for ¥11,000, or around $70. The figure stands at approximately six inches tall and is packaged with a whole host of swappable parts and extra effects. Among these are an additional head, six additional hands, one additional chest, swappable ears with lightning effects, more than a dozen separate lightning effects, and the display stand. Those who pre-order their Revoltech Amazing Yamaguchi Black Flash will also receive a bonus masked head with their order.

Who Is Black Flash in DC Comics?

First seen in the pages of 1998's The Flash #138 by Mark Millar, Grant Morrison, and Ron Wagner, the Black Flash isn't any particular Speedster unto himself, but rather a supernatural entity who serves as the occasional enforcer of the Speed Force and, more importantly, a literal grim reaper for others who are connected to the Speed Force. Before any Speedster passes away, the Black Flash appears to whisk them into whatever afterlife awaits them, usually in a horrifying fashion.

In the decades since the character made their debut, the Black Flash has played a key role in a wide variety of storylines and has even been tied to some of the fans' favorite DC Comics characters. Barry Allen and Bart Allen have both played host to the Black Flash at various points in their comic book careers, while Eobard Thawne took on the role of the self-proclaimed Black Flash during the events of Blackest Night, though he hardly wielded the same brand of power as the original.

Perhaps the most well-known iteration of the Black Flash is the one who hails from The CW's Arrowverse. This live-action TV version of the character was originally Hunter Zolomon, a serial killer from another Earth who gained his own connection to the Speed Force and decided to continue on with the Reverse-Flash's mission of terrorizing the original Speedster.

Eventually, Zolomon took on the name Jay Garrick, posing as the classic superhero to gain Team Flash's trust and gain the means to destroy the multiverse. Unfortunately for him, Zolomon was ultimately ripped to pieces by Time Wraiths, transforming him into the decomposed Black Flash of the Arrowverse, a mindless entity completely tied to the primordial will of the Speed Force itself.

The Amazing Yamaguchi Black Flash figure is available for preorder and is expected to ship in March 2027.

The Justice League, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter, pose together on the Justice League of America Vol. 1 comic cover.
