Donald and Mickey / Merry Christmas from Firestone, 1946 - Donald Duck and his nephews are tasked with running an old lighthouse. With Christmas looming and the arrival of a tropical storm, the kids see little chance at getting a message to Santa. Carl Barks puts much effort into the setting, capturing the loneliness and remoteness of the area. His depiction of the rain and crashing waves add a touch of realism to the tale. This story was later reprinted in The Carl Barks Library #6. Other artists in this issue include Al Taliaferro.
