Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Archie are both coming back, just in time to celebrate Archie's 85th anniversary. Oni Press and Archie Comic Publications, Inc. have announced three special new series arriving this fall.

People revealed that a new series of Archie comics will kick off later this year with the arrival of Archie #1, Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1, and Archie in Hell #1, coinciding with Archie's first appearance in Pep Comics back in 1941. Archie #1 is written by Cruel Universe's Ben H. Winters with art by Fábio Moon and Nick Cagnetti. Archie in Hell #1 is written by Patrick Horvath with art by Tyler Crook, while Sabrina's new installment is written by Corinna Beckho (Green Lantern: Earth One) with art by Kano (Gotham Central). The three series aim to bring the Riverdale icons to a new generation, but exact story details remain under wraps for now.

New Comics Celebrate Sabrina & Archie's Decades-Long Comics History

Cover art for Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1 hilariously teases that the issue will be "starring" Salem, her beloved black cat. Covers for Archie #1 and Archie in Hell #1 also tease that the iconic red-headed teen will be getting up to his own dark and ambitious adventures.

"One year ago, we started work on what has quickly become one of the most significant and anticipated collaborations in Oni's 30-year history: our new and ambitious line of titles celebrating the greatness of Archie Comics," Oni Press Publisher Hunter Gorinson said to People.

"Now, we're proud to welcome a vital new member to that team: the phenomenally talented Ben H. Winters, who is teaming with the brilliant Fábio Moon to deliver an eye-popping, heartstring-pulling ode to what makes these some of the most celebrated characters in the history of comics," Gorinson continued.

It remains to be seen where these stories will take Sabrina and the rest of Riverdale, but one thing's for certain: it's going to be a fun ride. "From Archie to Sabrina and Archie in Hell, our new comics are brimming with pop and power — from content to design, each issue is intended to be a highly concentrated dose of pure entertainment and unadulterated bliss, propelled by the never-ending energy of Archie's 85-year legacy," Gorinson shared.

As Ben H. Winters takes on the massive task of bringing Archie and pals to a new generation, he talked about being a fan of comics in an interview with Oni Press. " These characters and this world are part of our collective cultural inheritance, as much as Mickey Mouse or Coca-Cola or the Beatles. Always a fan," Winters said.

Oni Press's solicit for Archie #1 teases a story that looks at the character's entire history, though it remains to be seen if Sabrina will take a similar approach. "Archie embarks on a whirlwind, all-star adventure through his town’s past, present, and future... beginning with a local film festival that’s about to turn everything upside down... And, at the center of it all, lies an enigmatic paradox that only Archie’s pal Jughead Jones can possibly unravel..."

Archie #1, Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1, and Archie in Hell #1 will be released in September, October, and November 2026, respectively. Exact dates have not been announced at this time.
