Star Wars' High Republic Era Returns For An All-New Adventure

Star Wars is returning to its High Republic era with an exciting new release later this year. The High Republic Adventures: Pathfinders will get ready to wrap up its explosive mystery in the coming months.

Dark Horse Comics recently revealed its upcoming solicits, which include the fact that The High Republic Adventures: Pathfinders #5 will go on sale Sept. 9, 2026. There are plenty of High Republic adventures on the way in the coming months as well, with the second issue just dropping on May 27, the third set to follow on July 8, and the fourth on July 29. Still, as the six-part series begins to come to a close, it will be a long two-month wait for the penultimate issue to arrive. The Star Wars miniseries kicked off back in March and is set 20 years after Phase II of the High Republic, when a brand-new team of Pathfinders is dispatched to investigate the strange death of a Jedi Master.

Star Wars' New High Republic Adventure Teases a Major Reveal

When The High Republic Adventures: Pathfinders #5 arrives later this year, it promises to deliver some major answers to fans. Dark Horse's solicit teases that the mystery behind the Pathfinder's plight will be revealed in an interesting way as the story takes a minor departure before its final sixth issue.

"From a listening post on a lonely asteroid, a Republic comms team scours galactic frequencies for vital transmissions. It's routine work—that is, until the station's two inhabitants begin to unravel in the far reaches of space. See their spine-tingling transformations unfold in this inventive flashback issue!"

Details about when the sixth and final issue will arrive remain under wraps for now, so it remains to be seen if it will follow relatively quickly like earlier issues in the series or be another two-month wait like for Pathfinders #5. In the lead-up to the series' inevitable finale, fans still have plenty of months to get caught up on the High Republic story, and the upcoming issues look nothing short of incredible.

July 8's third issue, the team will trace the origins of a wrecked EX droid to the frozen planet of Bathoris and uncover a terrifying murder in the process. Dark Horse promises the arrival of another fan-favorite High Republic hero who will help the team uncover the truth behind the shocking events.

Then, in issue #4, more mysteries will unfold in the Outer Rim when Jedi Master Temesh, Padawan Anula, and the rest of the team are led to a seemingly abandoned listening station. Its twisting corridors turn out to not be as empty as they appear, with dangerous traps and killer droids. The issue teases that "someone, or something, has been waiting for the Pathfinders..." undoubtedly setting up a major conflict that prompts the upcoming flashback issue and an explosive finale.

The New High Republic Adventures are Written by a Fan-Favorite Star Wars Author

The High Republic Adventures — Pathfinders kicked off with the team investigating the death of a Jedi Master earlier this year, and the upcoming issues tease that even more mysteries are about to unfold. The series takes place during the beloved time period in the Star Wars franchise, approximately 500–100 years before the Skywalker Saga and hundreds of years after the fall of the Old Republic, allowing it to firmly establish itself in the lore with new characters as well as some old ones that fans will know and love.

The High Republic Adventures is written by George Mann, the author of fan-favorite Star Wars titles including The High Republic Adventures: Echoes of Fear and Hyperspace Stories: Qui-Gon. The upcoming fifth issue will feature art by Partha Pratim and Jagdish Kumar and cover art by Jake Bartok.
