Long Live the Pumpkin Queen saw Sally finally settle into her new role as the regent of Halloween Town.
As noted by the official solicit synopsis for Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Hour of the Pumpkin Queen from Dynamite Entertainment, "Sally has taken to her role as queen with boundless determination. However, balancing being a queen of Halloween Town with others' expectations has brought just as much uncertainty into her life as she attempts to foster cooperation and peace among the citizens of all the holiday lands. She's been stretched thin by her many duties, and unsure what lies in her future."
The solicit text continues, "While visiting her parents in Dream Town, Sally sees something special in a patchwork girl named Luna Slumberly, and decides to take on the young girl as an apprentice. The inaugural Halloween Town exhibition was meant to be the moment for Luna to demonstrate what she'd learned about spells, but things go awry as Sally and Luna are both flung into a new realm called Time Town."
What Is Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Hour of the Pumpkin Queen About?
Image via Dynamite EntertainmentTim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Hour of the Pumpkin Queen will follow Sally and Luna as they search for a way back home despite Halloween Town being thrust back in time. Throughout their search, Sally and Luna will traverse entirely new lands unlike any they have ever seen, although not everyone they meet along the way will be looking to help them make their way back to Halloween Town before time runs out.
While Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Hour of the Pumpkin Queen might be Dynamite Entertainment's latest translation of a pre-existing The Nightmare Before Christmas novel, they have also provided fans with no shortage of original stories. Back in January, the publisher released the first issue of writer Torunn Grønbekk and artist Edu Menna's Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Shiver of Christmas Town, which introduced a whole new kind of holiday-themed horror in the form of Doctor Finkelstein's latest, seemingly innocuous creation.
Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas: The Hour of the Pumpkin Queen from Dynamite Entertainment is currently slated to arrive in stores on Sept. 9.
