Two of the biggest animated hits of the '90s are colliding in the pages of Gargoyles/Darkwing Duck from Dynamite Entertainment.
Per a press release from Dynamite Entertainment, the worlds of Gargoyles and Darkwing Duck are about to collide for the very first time in a brand-new crossover comic book series. Written by Gargoyles co-creator Greg Weisman and longtime Disney developer Tad Stones with art by Ciro Cangialosi and letters by Fabio Amelia, Gargoyles/Darkwing Duck will see St. Canard's greatest heroes make the journey to New York to team up with the Manhattan Clan and face off against their most dangerous foes. Readers can check out the main and variant covers for Gargoyles/Darkwing Duck in the gallery down below.

"When I started in development at Walt Disney Television Animation, the first show I ever worked on was Darkwing Duck, learning the gig under Tad," Weisman recalled. "So nothing seems more appropriate than for Tad and I to team up to bring fans of both properties to this crossover event!"
"Greg had no problem entering DW’s world since he was part of the show’s development from the start," Stones added. "We traded notes and I even sketched out visual gags when words failed me. Working with teams of creative artists and writers has always been the best part of my career, and this crossover is a new highlight."
The official solicit synopsis for Gargoyles/Darkwing Duck #1 from Dynamite Entertainment reads, "When the diabolical Demona uses a mysterious magic mirror to recruit Morgana Macawber to her cause of mass destruction, Darkwing Duck and Launchpad McQuack flap their wings — actually they board the Thunderquack — over to Manhattan. They'll quickly cross paths with Goliath and Elisa. It might be time for a classic hero versus hero misunderstanding brawl, and so much more will follow!"
Dynamite Entertainment has published the ongoing Gargoyles and Darkwing Duck comic book series since 2022, much to the delight of fans of both classic animated shows. While Darkwing Duck is currently in its second volume at Dynamite Entertainment, the mainline Gargoyles series came to a close in 2024. Of course, that doesn't mean the Manhattan Clan's story is over, as the publisher continues to release new spinoff series, Winter Specials, and is even slated for another crossover in the form of Gargoyles x Fantastic Four later this month.
